Our History
Founded in 1990, Payroll Solution has provided California businesses outstanding personalized service for over 18 years. Guided by a desire to serve and support small business owners, the company continues to grow mindfully maintaining its commitment to excellent service.
As a computer consultant in the late 1980s, Bruce McKinley enjoyed setting up and teaching employers and employees to computerize their businesses. A cutting edge business at that time, most companies were just beginning to computerize their communications and bookkeeping. Time consuming manual processes and mountains of papers were just beginning to yield to the new, revolutionary computerized systems! While teaching these employers the value and convenience of computerization, Bruce noticed a recurring struggle that perplexed many of these employers. Payroll and meeting payroll tax requirements accurately and in a timely fashion presented an ongoing challenge. The idea to open a service to assist these employers kept presenting itself to him.
In January 1990 Payroll Solution began servicing a handful of clients in the Redding and Chico region of Northern California. Gradually the business grew, fueled primarily by the word of mouth advertising of its satisfied clients. As the business grew a clear parameter emerged dictating that although the company was becoming larger, the service should retain the same quality that our first few clients enjoyed. For that reason Payroll Solution has resisted rapid, unsustainable growth, preferring a more natural paced expansion which enables the staff to maintain the excellent level of service on which our reputation was built. So the growth of the company was always counterbalanced by the growth of our staffing capabilities. In this way the company retained its original purpose to offer highly personalized, friendly, accurate service to the business owner no matter what the company size. Each company, large or small, receives exactly the same considerate, thorough service. This is our promise to our client.
Careful selection of staff, looking for like minded individuals, Payroll Solution did not change its initial purpose as it grew. Our mission remains essential to our company; as essential as profitability. At the end of the day we need to know we have offered our clients peace of mind, support and the freedom to confidently pursue the all important task of growing their business.
In the ensuing years the company has continued to grow and expand its services and capabilities, always remaining faithful to its original guiding principle to be the best, not necessarily the biggest, payroll company.
